I’ve installed and uninstalled manually, from the device manager, with the uninstall button and probably a few other ways that I don’t remember off-hand. Make a new directory, say, “scanmaker” without the quotes. If I have to but definitely not my first choice0, I can connect the scanner to my previous XP computer, since we moved it to another area of the house for my husband to use. At least I know to quit wasting time trying to get the it to work. Now, you will need to click on the Install Driver or Update Driver button.

As to the old machine working, it’s possible the old machine had a driver you have yet to find. Does anyone know where I can find this driver for Windows 7 machine?

But, it seems one doesn’t have to trash his ScanMaker because the ArtixScanDI Windows 7 bit driver will work with the USB ScanMaker series of microteo at least it works with my ScanMakeras well as the previously reported — I suspect it will work with others, too. Evidently they expect one to replace a perfectly good, working scanner with a new model when one updates the OS. Furthermore, installing the wrong Microtek drivers can make these problems even worse.
